Framedistill / video knowledge workspace

AI video summarizer and transcript workspace for long videos

Paste a YouTube or Bilibili link, or upload your own video. Framedistill writes a timestamped transcript, splits the video into chapters and summarizes each one, answers your questions with citations, and lets you collect the useful parts into notes that jump back to the exact moment.

What you can do

Video to text

A clean, timestamped transcript. Framedistill compares the video's own captions with speech recognition and keeps the more reliable one.

Chapter summaries

Long videos are split by topic and summarized chapter by chapter, plus an overview and key takeaways.

Ask the video

Ask questions about the content. Answers cite the moments they come from, so you can verify them.

Notes with citations

Quote lines and screenshots into Markdown notes. Every quote keeps a link back to the source timestamp.

How it works

  1. Import

Paste a YouTube or Bilibili URL, or upload MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM or audio files.

  2. Read

Skim the chapter summaries, search the full transcript, click any sentence to jump to that moment.

  3. Keep

Collect what matters into notes; one note can link several videos. Export as Markdown.

Built for videos worth studying

Framedistill is designed for talk-heavy content: university lectures and online courses, conference talks, research seminars, interviews, podcasts and product keynotes. Reading a well-structured transcript is much faster than scrubbing through an hour of video.

The interface is available in English and Chinese, and it handles both English and Chinese videos.

FAQ

Which video sources are supported?

Paste a YouTube or Bilibili video URL, or upload a local video or audio file (MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and common audio formats). Whether a link can be fetched depends on the platform and its access rules; videos that require a login may not import.

What do I get after importing a video?

A transcript you can read and search, chapter summaries, a Q&A panel for questions about the video, and notes where you can keep quotes with timestamps. Processing time depends on video length, source and service load.

Is Framedistill free?

You can sign up for free. AI features such as transcription, chapter summaries and Q&A are limited by your plan and available credits, which you can check on the account credits page after signing in. It is not unlimited.

Can I combine several videos into one note?

Yes. A note can link multiple videos and keep timestamped citations to specific moments, which works well for research on one topic across many sources.
