Lecture notes from video: study recorded lectures without pausing every minute

Import a recorded lecture or online course video. Framedistill gives you the transcript and chapter summaries, answers questions about the parts you didn't get, and lets you quote key lines into notes. When you review, click a quote to rewatch that exact moment.

From lecture video to notes

  1. Import the lecture

Paste a YouTube or Bilibili link, or upload the recording.

  2. Skim chapters, ask questions

Use chapter summaries to see the structure; ask about anything unclear and get answers with timestamps.

  3. Build your notes

Quote lines and screenshots of slides into Markdown notes; each quote links back to the video.

Why students use it

Keep up with fast lectures

No more pausing to write things down: the transcript has every word.

Review in minutes

Chapter summaries give you the outline before an exam.

Notes you can trust

Every quote carries its timestamp, so you can always check the original explanation.

FAQ

Does it work for MOOCs and university recordings?

Yes, as long as the video can be uploaded or its link can be fetched. Content behind a course platform login usually needs to be uploaded as a file.

Can I screenshot slides into my notes?

Yes. Press the screenshot button on the player (or Alt+S) to insert the current frame into your note, with a link back to that moment.

Is Framedistill free?

You can sign up for free. AI features such as transcription, chapter summaries and Q&A are limited by your plan and available credits, which you can check on the account credits page after signing in. It is not unlimited.
