Video to text: turn any video into a searchable, timestamped transcript

Upload a video or audio file, or paste a YouTube or Bilibili link. Framedistill compares the video's own captions with speech recognition, keeps the more reliable one, and gives you a transcript where every sentence is linked to its timestamp.

Transcribe a video in 3 steps

  1. Upload or paste a link

MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM and common audio formats, or a YouTube / Bilibili URL.

  2. Get the transcript

Captions and speech recognition are compared and the more reliable result is kept.

  3. Read, search, quote

Search the transcript, click a sentence to jump to the video, quote it into your notes.

What you get

FAQ

Which file formats are supported?

Common video formats such as MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM, plus audio files.

Can I export the transcript?

Transcripts are read, searched and quoted inside Framedistill; notes built from them can be exported as Markdown.

Which languages are supported?

English, Chinese and other common spoken languages.

How accurate are the transcripts and summaries?

Accuracy depends on audio quality, accents, background noise and the quality of the original captions. AI transcription and summaries can be wrong, so every summary links back to a timestamp: click it to check the original before you quote a point or a number.

Is Framedistill free?

You can sign up for free. AI features such as transcription, chapter summaries and Q&A are limited by your plan and available credits, which you can check on the account credits page after signing in. It is not unlimited.
